About BaatBox

BaatBox is a random chat platform where two strangers can talk without creating an account and without building a profile. Pick a name, add your interests — and the system connects you with a partner whose interests match yours.

The idea is an old one, but we have rethought it for today. The biggest problems with older random chat sites were the pressure of identity, stored chat history, and losing everything if the connection dropped in the middle of a conversation. BaatBox removes all three by design.

How it works

When you press Start, our matching system first looks for online users whose interests overlap with yours. If nobody with a common interest turns up within a few seconds, you are matched with any available user. And if the connection drops during a chat — your network goes away or the page refreshes — coming back within 45 seconds resumes the very same chat.

Privacy, by design

BaatBox uses no database at all. That means no accounts, no chat history, and no profile database. Messages and photos travel only between the two connected users — photos are temporary and are never saved anywhere. The moment a chat ends, everything from that session ends with it. What is never stored can never leak, and can never be sold.
